This is the story of Julia, Ralph, and Ingrid. As students in Sydney, the bond that ties this threesome is complex and intense. When Ingrid falls in love and marries Gil, she decides to settle in New York, where Gil is a major player in the art world. She becomes stepmother to Gil’s daughter and begins to work. But one morning, she has an appointment and is never seen again.
